ChaLEAN EXTREME Week 1 Review

I started my workout journey with Beachbody doing Insanity but due to past knee injuries it was too tough on my joints for me to continue it. So with the help of my Beachbody coach Brett Banford I found ChaLean Extreme, which was a workout program we thought would get me the result I wanted and it would be easier on my joints.
I ordered my challenge pack and in a about a week I had my Shakeology and workout program. I started July 2 2012 and finished my first week of workouts July 7 2012. The program came with 7 different dvds, a program guidebook, and a fat burning food guidebook which has been very helpful so far while starting the program. There is a dvd in the program that has a section all about the workouts, how they will help you burn fat, and how to do the moves right. Also the dvd has a part where she gives you tips on what to eat and she gives you a “kitchen makeover”, which I found very helpful there were a lot of great tips on what to eat and what to buy when you go grocery shopping.
On Monday I started my first workout circuit called the Burn circuit 1. This workout was a little difficult for me at first just because I am not use to lifting weights but after the first two exercises I really liked lifting the weights. Also I really like the energy ChaLEAN keeps during the workouts she really keeps you going during them. ChaLEAN also breaks down the workouts so you can easily do them at home and do them the right way.
The next day was my rest day which was nice but I found it a little odd that the second day of the program was a rest day. Wednesday I started Burn circuit 2 which again was a challenge because I was new to the moves and lifting weights but I still enjoyed it and felt great after my workout.
Then on Thursday I did ChaLEAN Extreme burn intervals and ab burner. Those two circuits were very hard for me because some of the moves did hurt my knee but ChaLEAN has one of her workout buddies show you how to do the moves in a low impact way which made it much easier on my joints and let me enjoy the workouts better.
Friday I did Circuit 3 which was similar to the other burn circuits. I ended my workout week on Saturday with ChaLEAN Extreme Burn it off and recover, these workouts were very nice after this hard week. There were a lot of really nice stretches which felt good on my tight muscles. Overall I really liked this program and can’t wait to see the result my hard work will bring!
