ChaLEAN EXTREME Week 2 Review

This week I have successfully completed week 2 of Chalean Extreme! I am still in the burn phase of the program so I had all the same workouts from last week. The workouts this week have gotten a little easier. I have increased the weight I am lifting during the workouts which has become a little bit more challenging, but not to the point where I can’t do it.
I am really starting to like the 3 Burn Circuit workouts, all the weight lifting and the exercises are really starting to shape my body and build my muscles. On the other hand I dislike her Burn interval. It is intense and I have to really push myself though these workouts but I do like the kickboxing part of the Burn intervals. The kickboxing really helps you relax on a stressed day or if you are in a bad mood it is a good workout to do and you will feel great after it.
My favorite workout in this whole phase has to be the Burn It off and Recharge workout; they are both a great way to end the workout week and all the stretches in the Recharge workout feels so great on sore muscles. I am really enjoying how the workouts are not super long most of them are 40-30 minutes long, there are only two days where you workout for about a hour which once you start you hardly notice you have been working out that long because you are getting such a great workout!
I have also been eating healthier this week because I really want to get the best results I can from this program. I have cut soda out of my diet, I’m eating more fruits and veggies, salads, and smaller portion sizes with my meals. Also Brett and I are cooking more meals at home instead of going out to eat all the time which has really helped us eat healthier and save some money.
Since I have started this new healthier lifestyle I have gotten in to growing more of my own herbs and cooking with them. One day when I have my own yard I want to have my own garden where I grow my own sustainable garden and use what I grow in it to cook with. I really love cooking with many different flavors, ingredients, and all kinds of spices to create a delicious meal. Cooking with many different ingredients helps to keep eating healthy from getting too boring and stops you from wanting to stray from eating healthy; that’s what I have found out through this process of having a healthier lifestyle.
Chalene always talks in her workouts about how you should get your family and friends involved in working out with you which I agree with. It has been nice to have Brett going through this lifestyle change with me. Even though we are not doing the same programs he still supports me while I do my workouts and I do the same for him. Also he helps cook dinner and go shopping for the food we eat. This whole process has brought us closer in many different aspects of our relationship and has us wanting to do more active quality time stuff together instead of sitting on the couch all the time. This program is more than just a workout program it is a life changing program and I can’t wait to see the result I get from it!
