5 Critical Insanity Workout Tips

Insanity workout tipsInsanity workout tips are always something that people are curious about.  Everyone wants to be able to get the most success with any workout program, so any tips are greatly appreciated.  Well Inanity is no different.  After just recently finishing Insanity I wanted to give my 5 most critical Insanity workout tips that will ensure you get the most success with Insanity.  Many of these are not a big surprise, but for whatever reason it makes things a lot easier for people when you can show them things in a list form haha.  So with that said I want you to take each one of these Insanity workout tips for what they are worth and really make sure you are utilizing them correctly while you are going through the program.  I will do my best to explain each one thoroughly to you. Enjoy!

Insanity Workout Tips – Everything You Need To Succeed!

Like I said I don’t think most of these Insanity workout tips will surprise you and actually you will see most of these in the videos themselves.  Having someone go through and explain each one to you and it’s relevance makes life a lot easier though right? RIGHT! So here is my list of the 5 critical Insanity workout tips that will help you get the most success with Insanity!

Insanity Workout Tips – #1 Keep Your Core Tight!

Keep Your Core TightThis perhaps is one of the biggest tips there is!  You will see this a lot through out all of the videos and it will be restated again and again by Shaun T.  The reason this is so important is because you want to engage all of the muscles in your stomach so you can get the most burn and therefore the most weight loss while you are working out. You may be asking yourself right now “How on earth do I keep my core tight though?”. Well here is what I have found works best.

Have you ever heard the phrase “I laughed so hard it made my stomach hurt.”? Well this is because when you laugh for long extended periods of time your core is constantly engaging and keeping tight. So try and do some kind of fake laugh or think of something that will make you laugh and feel your core engage.  This is the feeling of keeping your core tight and is what you should try and replicate during your Insanity workouts.

Insanity Workout Tips – #2 Workout At Your Own Pace!

This is a big one as well.  Most people think that if they can’t keep up with everyone in the workouts then they aren’t good enough and are failing.  This is not the case.  You should do the best YOU can do.  Don’t hold yourself to anyone’s standards but your own!  Pushing play and doing your best is far better than doing nothing at all.

Insanity Workout Tips – #3 NEVER Sacrifice Form!

This one is very important and will help prevent injury.  There is form for a reason and it’s because it is the proper way to do the move for two reasons. The first reason is because doing the move with correct form will inevitably help better prevent you from injuring yourself.  The second reason is because the form they show is the form that will get you the most results and is the form where the muscles are working the hardest.  Don’t try and get the last extra couple of reps if they are going to be crappy. Take a quick breather and then get a few more with good form!

Insanity Workout Tips – #4 Proper Preparation!

hydrationThis is critical if you want to make it through an entire Insanity workout.  You need to make sure you are prepared to take on the workout in the first place. Make sure you are properly hydrated and have enough rest to complete these workouts.  If you aren’t then you will be even more miserable dragging yourself through the workout. I will even put my P90X Results and Recovery Drink in my water to go ahead and get my muscles recovering while I am working out. This is a very critical step!

Insanity Workout Tips – #5 Soft Landings!

Insanity workouts are very tough on the joints.  There are many high impact moves that will have you jumping and moving around a lot.  It is critical that you don’t slam your joints up and down on the floor while you are doing these exercises.  Try and land softly on the ground when jumping is involved to avoid injuring your knees.

Insanity Workout Tips – #6 *BONUS* Find Support and Encouragement

These workouts are extremely intense and can take a lot out of you. You may find yourself discouraged at times, or may find that you just can’t go on. Don’t give up! it is worth it I promise!  You the support outside of Insanity to keep you on track. I can help you reach all of your fitness goals I have been through Insanity (My Insanity Workout Review). You have a whole community along with myself that wants to see you reach your goals. All you have to do is sign up for a Free Beachbody Account and you can get the motivation, support, and encouragement you will need.

  1. Great tips Brett. I think they can be applied to any workout, not just Insanity. I’m not always good at the preparation part. I work out in the evenings and sometimes right after I finish eating which isn’t that good for you. I know I need to give my body time to digest first but I want to get my workout in and sometimes time isn’t in my favor.

Yes they certainly can be Mary! And I know it is hard to always be properly prepared for your workouts, but you always will notice a difference when you are and when you aren’t!

  2. Awesome. Tony Horton always says “Do your best and forget the rest.” I think this is applicable to any workout. There is no need to keep up with everyone in the video. If you are working out, you are doing more than most people. Great tips.

  3. My fiance and I are doing Insanity – for the second time. We both got such good results the first time, that we decided to do it again! We love Shaun T. Thanks for this post!

  4. Good tips, and though I hear them I still have to be reminded at times to actually implement them.
