X2 Yoga is FINISHED!!!! I just finished day 5 of my P90X2 challenge and I am super excited to tell you about this workout. So I will go ahead and answer I know you have on your mind and that’s “how is this different then P90X Yoga?”. Well besides a little bit of variations and some different moves it is only 60 minutes! That’s right no more dreading the days of an hour and a half of Yoga and letting it ruin the experience for you all together. With that being said I want to tell you some more about X2 Yoga and also give you my update on how I handled the new yoga and what I thought of it. I think you will be excited to try X2 Yoga after you read this review!
X2 Yoga – The Review
So I am excited to tell you about X2 Yoga, the workout itself I feel is what everyone was hoping in a lot less time. You will recognize a lot of the moves in X2 Yoga as many of them are the core moves of yoga. I will say that while you will notice a few of the same moves somehow the whole feels of it flows very well together and makes the whole workout feel very fulfilling, complete, and different from P90X Yoga.
X2 Yoga – The Moves
I am not going to go through the entire X2 Yoga routine because I certainly don’t want to ruin the workout for you, but I will go through what the routine is all about and hopefully give you a better picture of how X2 Yoga is a little different than P90X Yoga. So to start off with you do some very basic warm up of moves, you should recognize all the normals like upward and downward dog. These are the foundation for all the strength moves in yoga.
After a couple of Sun Salutations you dive right into the workout. So the strength sequences of X2 Yoga consists of some of the same moves of P90X Yoga except you don’t hold the moves as long. You move faster through the moves and therefore work your muscles quicker with more repetition. You will see some of the warrior moves appear again, but like I said you will not be held in these positions for very long.
The last part of the strength sequence they really make you dig deep, by putting you in the warrior 3 position and making you balance on one leg for quite some time. This is where the intensity is picked up and you will feel this (or at least you should). Once you make it through the last series of strength moves (you should recognize some more) you finally get to go into some awesome stretches.
The stretches are some of the same stretches that you will see in the first P90X Yoga. They really will get your body feeling loose and limber, especially after all of those strength moves. There isn’t too much more to say about the stretches they are what they are. They do throw in a couple ab moves in X2 Yoga, but certainly not as many as the moves in P90X Yoga. X2 Yoga ends with some relaxing calming of the body and mind positions that will really bring the whole workout full circle for you.
X2 Yoga – How My Day 5 Went
I must say that I absolutely love X2 Yoga and it was everything that I hoped for from the first yoga workout. I actually found myself getting better in some of the balancing moves. I really tried to focus my breathing and mind on each exercise in it’s entirety. One thing I also noticed as well is that my flexibility has increased tremendously from when I first started working out 7 months. During some of the hamstring stretches I realized that I can read and almost completely interlock my fingers behind my feet. All in all I had an awesome time doing this workout and I think you will really enjoy it as well.
Speaking of, if you have done the X2 Yoga workout then I want to know what you thought of it? How did your day 5 go? Did you like the difference between X2 Yoga and P90X Yoga as much as I did? Did you struggle with anything in particular? I would love to hear what your impressions are of this workout. Let me know what you thought by leaving your comments below. I can’t wait to hear how your journey is going for you!

Great review. That is so true about dreading the hour and a half P90X Yoga and how the length of it ruins the whole experience. I wonder why he made it so long not to mention it’s hard to carve out the time. Really enjoying your P90X2 reviews and will circle back to get insights as needed. Thanks!
Thanks Rick I will be sure to keep them coming, just need people like you to keep reading them haha
Good review…I know everyone says how good it is for you, but still haven’t gotten over the hump to say I “like” Yoga yet, even though I still do it.
I think I only liked X2 Yoga so much just because of how much I disliked P90X Yoga haha. It is new to me though and has been a nice change of pace.
I love X2: Yoga. Did you play with your crane? :-) The balance work is killer. I was dying during the standing split. I like this much better than the first version.
I can hold the standing split for about 3 seconds, I plan on getting a cool picture of it before it is all set and done. The crane I pretty much have down!
~ SandyGreat post, Brett! I’m bookmarking!
Thanks Sandy and Ron it is nice to know someone is reading all of these posts!
I always love the yoga & stretching days during my workout. My muscles get so tight, it feels so good!
Great post! I'm not brave enough to venture into P90X2 yet, but love reading all about it. Insanity is enought for me, at the moment! I'll be back!
Oh that is good to know that yoga is only 60 minutes instead of 90 minutes like in P90X. You’re doing great. Great post. ROCK ON!
